Want excellent images on less than perfect plastic parts? Parts with surface irregularities, sinks, or part-to-part variations? It's easy with custom silicone rubber dies from Schwerdtle.
Schwerdtle Silicone Rubber Compounds
Our proprietary line of silicone rubber compounds combine the best in resiliency, conductivity and toughness. Unlike rigid metal dies, our silicone rubber dies conform to surface irregularities or sinks without distorting the image or part.
Durometer
Although most applications are best served with 80 to 85 durometer dies, we make available dies ranging from very soft (40 durometer) to very hard (95 durometer) to meet every need.
Dual Durometer Dies
At Schwerdtle, we offer dual durometer dies with a soft durometer to hot stamp your bold copy, combined with a hard durometer for fine copy areas. In addition, for maintaining fine detail on parts with considerable surface irregularities, we make dual durometer dies with a hard durometer silicone rubber face and a soft layer of silicone rubber underneath.
Dual Thickness Silicone Rubber Hot Stamps
By making one section of your design a few thousandths of an inch higher than the surrounding copy for a harder strike, our dual thickness dies can solve many of your difficult hot stamping problems.
Flat Silicone Rubber Dies
Sharp images and long die life are qualities you can count on from our Silicone Rubber Dies, molded to the most exacting tolerances.
Rubber Thickness: 1/16", 3/32" or 1/8"
Metal Substrate: 1/32" soft aluminum, 1/16" or 1//8" hard aluminum
Mounting Holes: To insure fast die change, dies can be furnished pre-drilled with the copy spaced to your specifications.
Contoured Silicone Rubber Dies
We offer two types of dies for hot stamping on contoured plastic parts. Where contour is slight or an even radius, a thin silicone rubber die which is molded flat, bonded to 1/32" dead soft aluminum, then bent and mounted on a matching contour block using heat bonding tape or metal clips, works best. These dies are relatively inexpensive and can be quickly produced. For long running jobs, we recommend silicone rubber dies which are contour molded to fit the shape of the part and vulcanized directly onto contoured die blocks. By ordering four to six dies initially, you can return worn die blocks to us for periodic recoating without interrupting production. Put Schwerdtle's experience and expertise to work for you. When it comes to making custom dies, our image is perfect!

As silicone rubber specialists, Schwerdtle can supply rolls and sheet stock to meet almost every application.
Silicone Rubber Rolls
Rolls and sleeves are coated with the silicone rubber compound best suited to your application, and available in any thickness. The rolls are ground to be exactly concentric O.D. to I.D. Schwerdtle can recoat your worn roll, or make new rolls to your specification.
Flat Silicone Rubber Sheet Stock
Our stock is made in a wide range of sizes, compounds, durometers and thicknesses. It can be bonded to aluminum, steel or brass, and can be used for applying foil to raised lettering or designs, or for applying heat transfer decals. Thin silicone rubber bonded to 1/32" dead soft aluminum can be formed to fit contour parts.
Textured Silicone Rubber
Various textures can be molded on the face of silicone rubber as a means of preventing air entrapment when applying foil or heat transfer decals. At Schwerdtle, we've been serving American industry for over a century Let us help you solve your problems. For more information, or to place an order, contact the Schwerdtle Specialists today.
